Our Scout Group offers varied and exciting programmes to stimulate and provide enjoyment for boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 14 years. In order to ensure that all activities are appropriate to children’s ages, the Group is divided into three sections:
- Beavers (boys and girls aged 6 to 8 years)
- Cubs (boys and girls aged between 8 and 10½ years)
- Scouts (boys and girls aged between 10½ and 14 years)
We have two Beaver Colonies, two Cub Packs and two Scout Troops. To learn about our Beaver Colonies, Cub Packs or Scout Troops, select the relevant section from the main menu bar at the top of this page.
From 14 to 18 years, young men and women can join the Explorers – we have our own unit.
From the age of 18, young men and women become members of the Scout Network.
Activities are many and varied and feature, particularly, many outdoor activities. In the past year our activities have included:
- Camping, Hiking, Sleepovers, Geocaching
- Sailing, Kayaking, Dragon Boating
- Swimming
- Climbing and Abseiling
- Archery and Rifle Shooting
- Widegames and other outdoor activities and games.
- Orienteering, Backwoods cooking and Pioneering (building unnecessary structures from spars and rope!)

We rely entirely on voluntary adult help. Please visit our Volunteers page to learn how you could help – even if you are free only occasionally – and how we can fit your Scouting around all your other commitments. Volunteering is fun!
