Every year in the summer holidays we hold a week long Summer Camp for the cubs. This is one of the most exciting events of the year as the cubs get to do interesting new activities, explore new places, stay away from home as well as earn loads of badges! We do a mixture of traditional camp activities, (such as camp fires, hiking and tent pitching) as well as more modern activities (such as our famous film nights!). We also have a day away from camp (known as shore leave) in order to let the cubs do more actvities such as swimming and rock climbing. There is normally an assault course set up somewhere on the site and we encourage the cubs (and leaders!!!) to try and beat their best time.
Our Summer Camps are unique as each year we have a new theme. For example the 2010 camp to Stanford was space themed so each tent was named after an astronaut who had previously been a scout, they also built 'satellites' as part of one of the wide games as well as trying actual astronaut food! We also have our resident camera woman Jacala creating a film of the great memories from each camp so that each cub can keep the DVD to remember it by.
This years Summer Camp will be in Bently Copse and is going to have the theme of inventions.

Our aim is to create a fun and stimulating environment for the children by introducing them to new things and challenging them.
