3rd/5th Lancing, 3rd
Shoreham and 8th Worthing all played in the the Royal Navy Soccer sixes at the weekend
of 5-7 October in Portsmouth. The teams have to be from Royal Navy recognised groups (of which there are 101 in the country).
About 21 groups of 147 young people in total played 104 games over the weekend, adjudicated by qualified refs, they stayed on board HMS Bristol overnight and generally had a great time.
Two age groups played, Scouts (up to 14½) and Explorers (up to 18) many towns were represented (Warwick, Sutton Coldfield, Streatham,Alton to name a few).
3rd/5th Lancing scouts and 3rd Shoreham scouts played in the final and despite Shoreham drawing with Lancing in the league Lancing managed to score 1 goal in the final and win the trophy.
8th Worthing won the Explorer scouts final against Hamble on penalties making sure the silverware came home to West Sussex.
