We’ve listened to your requests so this
year's Summer Camp will now be held at Rock UK Carroty Wood Adventure Centre in Kent from
Sunday 14th to Friday 19th August. We’ve avoided Saturdays so that those of
you with part-time jobs can attend. We will have exclusive access to Woodpecker
Camp. The cost will be £140 per Explorer. This includes site fees, food and activities.
An equivalent commercially run activity holiday would cost at least 4 times as much.
One way in which we’re able to keep the cost so low is by asking parents for help
with transport. We will ask you nearer the time if you’re able to help. We will
also be designing a special Camp t-shirt for you to wear instead of uniform!
Rock UK Carroty Wood Adventure Centre is
set in an idyllic rural location just outside Tonbridge in Kent, only an hour and
15 minutes away. It’s set in 58 Acres of beautiful, mature, enclosed woodland. We
will be camping in tents already pitched for you, complete with camping mattresses!
We will be cooking centrally for you indoors.
Facilities available include: an indoor swimming pool, low ropes course (with swamp!),
high ropes course, sports field, floodlit all-weather sports pitch, payphone, tuck
shop and exclusive use of our own ranch building housing toilets, showers, kitchen,
dining room, lounge and dvd player. Activities available include: abseiling, archery,
barbecue, basketball, bushcraft, camp fire, canoeing, chill out time, climbing,
football, high ropes, kayaking, king swing, low ropes, maze, netball, night hike,
orienteering, rafting, scavenger hunt, swimming, unihoc and volleyball.
No long journey – no group kit to unpack
– no tents or marquee to pitch – no cooking – no badge-work – no inspections – no
uniform!

To make sure you don’t miss out, download the letter, fill in the form and return it with a non-returnable
deposit of £35 per Explorer no later than Wednesday 2nd March. The balance
of £105 will be required by Wednesday 25th May. You must be under 18 on 20th August
to attend.
Further details, including a kit list, will
be issued nearer to the Camp date.
